Jon Cazenave is an intense and emotional author, austere, spiritual, ascetic, silent and synthetic. The roots of his work penetrate into land and nature, as a kind of rizome that has been growing and expanding over the years.
In the beginning he approached concepts such as identity and anthropology, with an omnipresent background: the landscape. Over time, this natural scenario, traversed by the culture and history of the human being, was represented as a backbone of his work and developed in multiple directions ranging from the vestiges of prehistory until a metaphysical drift, connecting it with the universal essence of nature. What at first was a documentary record began to hold much symbolism and began to create a dynamic relation with the landscape, intervening in the support that represents it, or acting directly in the materials that inhabit it using printing techniques such as cyanotype, risography or charcoal process.

Autor austero, intenso y sintético, las raíces de su obra penetran en el conflicto entre naturaleza y cultura -razón y emoción- como una suerte de rizoma que ha ido creciendo y extendiéndose a lo largo de los años.
En sus comienzos abordó conceptos como la identidad y la memoria con un omnipresente telón de fondo: el paisaje. Con el tiempo, ese escenario natural, atravesado por la cultura y la historia del ser humano, ha ido situándose como un núcleo vertebrador de su trabajo. Crece en múltiples direcciones que van desde las huellas de la prehistoria hasta una deriva metafísica que lo conecta con la esencia universal de la naturaleza. Lo que en un principio fue un registro documental se ha ido cargando de simbolismos y está desembocando en una relación dinámica con el paisaje interviniéndolo en el soporte que lo representa o actuando directamente sobre los materiales que lo habitan mediante técnicas como la cianotipia, la risografía, el carbón transportado o la serigrafía.
